What is available through the public service?
PlayNow's BC navigation includes casino, live casino, poker, bingo, sports and lottery information. Casino categories include slots and table games. A particular title or table should be checked in the current catalogue rather than inferred from a general category.
The presence of several product types is why “Lottery only” would be a misleading description of this service. This guide does not rank private casino alternatives or treat acceptance of a Canadian address as equivalent to provincial authorization.
Registration and travel
Check residency before spending time on registration: visiting BC is not the same as being a BC resident. Use the details that match your identity documents, and read any additional eligibility conditions in the player agreement.
A location error should be resolved with support. Check the device permissions requested by the official service and report the error accurately; do not disguise your location. Before travelling, distinguish account access from permission to wager.
PlayNow also operates provincial services outside BC. The shared name does not mean you can substitute the age threshold of PlayNow Manitoba or Saskatchewan's account conditions for BC's rules.
Deposits: use the current method name
The current BC deposit FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Interac e-Transfer, online bill payment and Web Cash. Availability can depend on the relevant financial institution and account. The FAQ also warns that an issuer may charge a cash-advance fee.
Older graphics can still refer to Interac Online. Read the current cashier and help wording instead of assuming Interac Online and Interac e-Transfer are the same service.
Before confirming a deposit, check the amount, the payment route and any bank charge. If the money has left your bank but is not visible in the gaming account, record the reference and contact support rather than immediately repeating the payment.
Withdrawals: distinguish processing from bank receipt
PlayNow's published BC FAQ describes electronic bank transfer for ordinary withdrawals. It asks readers to allow up to three business days for processing, followed by approximately one business day for bank receipt, with timing dependent on the financial institution. These are provider estimates, not a PlayExpert test or guarantee.
Before requesting money, check whether your bank-account information is correct, whether identity or occupation details have been requested, whether the balance you see is cash or a promotional amount, and whether the operator has approved the request rather than merely received it — the bank's stage follows the operator's.
If your question concerns an unused deposit, ask about a refund. Do not interpret a gambling account as an ordinary bank account or assume every balance can be withdrawn in the same way.
Games and mobile use
Use the rules panel for the actual game: similar names can cover different table rules, bets or variants. A large catalogue is not itself a promise of better outcomes.
Start mobile access from the official PlayNow website. If you choose an app, use the provider's own download route and confirm the publisher. Check readability, support access and account controls before focusing on animations or game selection. Do not borrow another province's age: Manitoba's PlayNow service uses 18, even though the brand is shared.
Who regulates online gambling in British Columbia?
The Independent Gambling Control Office is British Columbia's gambling regulator, while the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) runs PlayNow, the province's public online casino. A regulator's existence does not mean it handles every individual payment question, so start with PlayNow's own help route for account issues. Are gambling winnings taxable in British Columbia?
No, not for most players. Gambling winnings from casual play are not taxed as income in Canada, whether you win online or at a casino in British Columbia.
