Land-based casinos in Manitoba
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries runs two casinos in Winnipeg: Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino. The province's other casinos include South Beach Casino & Resort in Scanterbury, about 30 minutes north of Winnipeg; Aseneskak Casino on Opaskwayak Cree Nation, north of The Pas; and Sand Hills Casino, 10 minutes south of Carberry. Check the venue's own site before you visit.
Official service and product range
PlayNow Manitoba's navigation includes casino, live casino, lottery, sports, poker and bingo. Casino categories include slots, blackjack, table games and video poker — this describes the service categories, not a promise that every title is always available.
A useful evaluation starts with what you want to understand: the account conditions, rules for the chosen product, payment process and available controls.
Sports betting in Manitoba
PlayNow Sportsbook is the only provincially sanctioned online sportsbook in Manitoba. It runs on PlayNow.com, which Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries calls Manitoba's only legal online gambling site, and PlayNow says it is regulated by the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba.
Sports betting in Manitoba on PlayNow includes single-event bets: PlayNow offers single-event betting on all Sportsbook markets except Same Game Parlay. To open an account you must be 18 or older, a Manitoba resident and located in Manitoba. The official PlayNow MB Sportsbook app, published by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, is on the App Store and Google Play.
Sport Select, the lottery-style sports game that includes Pro-Line, is run by the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, whose lotteries cover Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Other Manitoba sports betting sites may accept players from the province, but a site that accepts Manitoba players is not provincially authorized by that fact alone.
Opening an account
Use the Manitoba registration information and your own accurate details. Prepare for age and identity verification and check how the service communicates requests for further information. The help page explains that age and residency information is checked as part of registration.
Before depositing, make sure you can access the email address attached to the account and understand how to contact support. Read restrictions that may apply to your own circumstances in the full agreement; meeting the basic age threshold is not the entire agreement.
If you travel, do not use account access as a test of whether wagering is allowed. Read the Manitoba location condition before leaving the province.
Deposits and bank charges
Manitoba's help describes funding through online bill payment and the change from Interac Online toward Interac e-Transfer. Its official deposit tutorial advises checking the fee information for the selected route.
A method being listed does not mean your bank necessarily supports it or that a payment will be immediate. Check your financial institution's instructions and the current cashier. Avoid relying on an old logo strip when the written help has been updated.
Keep a record of the amount and reference. If a payment is pending, ask about its status before sending another identical transaction.
Withdrawals and verification
The Manitoba FAQ describes ordinary withdrawals to a bank account by electronic funds transfer and identifies occupation information as something that may be needed before a request.
Check the bank details and the amount available to withdraw. Ask whether any documents remain outstanding, and distinguish submission, approval and bank receipt. This guide does not publish an independently tested Manitoba payout time.
Keep the withdrawal request date, its reference, any verification messages, the approval status and confirmation of bank receipt — those five things separate a genuine delay from a completed transfer you simply haven't seen yet.
Do not assume a deposited balance and winnings have identical refund and withdrawal treatment. If you deposited by mistake or want to stop, ask support which process applies instead of gambling to try to change the balance's status.
Games, rules and devices
A category such as “blackjack” does not define all the rules of every table. Read the individual game's information, stake level and payout rules before a real-money decision. A game demo explains operation; it does not establish what your next session will return.
For mobile use, start from the official Manitoba service. Check that registration, payment information and account limits remain accessible on the device you intend to use.
Lottery, casino and poker results also have different processes. If you need help, identify the product rather than sending a general “my winnings are missing” message.
Responsible-play controls and complaints
The Manitoba homepage links to GameSense, tools for managing play and voluntary self-exclusion. Read the scope of those controls on the official service. A break or limit should support the decision you make about spending, not become a target to use in full.
Start account complaints with PlayNow Manitoba's official help. Keep screenshots, dates and case numbers, but do not send passwords or full card numbers. Ask for the formal next step if an initial response leaves the matter unresolved.
Manitoba online casinos FAQ
Is online gambling legal in Manitoba?
Yes, through PlayNow Manitoba, run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, the only online casino and sportsbook the province sanctions. Manitoba licenses no private operators, and a site that accepts Manitoba players is not provincially authorized by that fact alone. Provinces that license private casinos are compared on our provinces page.
How old do you have to be to gamble in Manitoba?
You must be 18 to gamble online in Manitoba through PlayNow Manitoba. That is lower than British Columbia, where PlayNow uses 19, so read the correct provincial terms. Manitoba residency is also required, and the help page explains that age and residency information is checked as part of registration. Compare British Columbia's rules.
Who regulates online gambling in Manitoba?
The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) regulates gaming in the province, and PlayNow says it is regulated by the LGCA. Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries runs PlayNow Manitoba, the province's only sanctioned online casino, with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Because Manitoba licenses no private operators, there is no private-operator register to check. Ontario's regulator is covered on our Ontario page.
Are gambling winnings taxable in Manitoba?
No, not for most players. Gambling winnings from casual play are not taxed as income in Canada, whether you win online or at a casino in Manitoba. The exception is someone the Canada Revenue Agency treats as a professional gambler, whose winnings count as business income. Interest or investment income you later earn on winnings is taxable. Rules for every region are on our page on where you can play in Canada.
Is Manitoba's online gambling age the same as British Columbia's?
No. Manitoba's PlayNow service uses 18, while British Columbia's uses 19. The shared PlayNow brand does not make provincial terms interchangeable, so read the agreement for the province you are in. Saskatchewan's PlayNow service, for example, specifies 19 or over and requires you to be physically in that province. See our Saskatchewan page.
Can I use my Manitoba PlayNow account while outside Manitoba?
No. The PlayNow Manitoba player agreement does not permit wagering or purchasing games while you are physically outside the province, and Manitoba residency is required. Do not use account access while travelling as a test of whether wagering is allowed; read the location condition before you leave. Rules for other provinces are on our provinces page.
Does PlayNow Manitoba offer only lottery tickets?
No. PlayNow Manitoba's navigation includes casino, live casino, lottery, sports, poker and bingo, and its casino categories include slots, blackjack, table games and video poker. That describes service categories, not a promise that every title is always available. Read the individual game's rules, stake level and payout rules before playing. British Columbia's PlayNow has a similar range.
Should I choose a PlayNow Manitoba payment method because it deposits quickly?
No, check the withdrawal route and fees too, because deposit convenience is only one part of using an account. Manitoba's help describes funding through online bill payment and a move from Interac Online toward Interac e-Transfer, while ordinary withdrawals go to a bank account by electronic funds transfer. Withdrawal stages are explained in our fastest payout guide.
What if my documents show an old address when I register with PlayNow Manitoba?
Ask PlayNow Manitoba support which current documents are accepted, then update your account details accurately. Never edit a document to make it match. Age and residency information is checked as part of registration, and occupation information may be needed before a withdrawal. Keep access to the email address attached to the account. PlayExpert's own approach to identity and dates is on How we verify.
Does PlayExpert guarantee a PlayNow Manitoba withdrawal date?
No. PlayExpert's guide does not publish an independently tested Manitoba payout time, so use PlayNow Manitoba's current processing information and the actual status of your request. Keep the request date, reference, verification messages, approval status and confirmation of bank receipt to separate a genuine delay from a completed transfer. Our fastest payout guide explains the stages.
Which online casinos can I use in Manitoba?
PlayNow Manitoba is the only online casino the province sanctions. It is run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries and is open to Manitoba residents aged 18 or over who are located in Manitoba. Offshore casinos also accept Manitoba players, but that does not make them provincially authorized; our list above shows each one's licence and the date we checked it. Rules elsewhere are on our provinces page.
Is sports betting legal in Manitoba?
Yes, on PlayNow: Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries offers sports betting, including single-event bets, on PlayNow.com, which it calls Manitoba's only legal online gambling site. You must be 18 or older, a Manitoba resident and located in Manitoba. A sportsbook that accepts Manitoba players is not provincially authorized by that fact alone. Compare the other provinces on our provinces page.
Is there a PlayNow Manitoba app?
Yes, there are two official PlayNow apps for Manitoba players. PlayNow MB Sportsbook is published by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries on the App Store and Google Play. PlayNow Slots: Online Casino is published by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation for players in British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Both require you to be 18 or older to play in Manitoba. Download them only from the official stores. The shared PlayNow service is explained on our British Columbia page.
Are offshore online casinos legal in Manitoba?
Manitoba licenses no private online casino operators. A site that accepts Manitoba players is not provincially authorized by that fact alone, and PlayNow Manitoba, run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, is the only online casino the province sanctions. Some offshore casinos hold a licence from another regulator, such as the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission; what that licence covers is on our Kahnawà:ke licence guide.
Keep control of your play
Set a spending limit you can afford before playing. Read the provider's information about account limits, breaks and self-exclusion. If gambling is causing harm, seek support rather than trying to win back losses.
